INDIANA COURSE
TEE IT UP AT THE PETE DYE INDIANA COURSE WITH THE CONDOR SQ 460CC SQUARE-HEAD DRIVER
By Ken Liebeskind
Yalesville, Connecticut
The Pete Dye Indiana course at French Lick opened last April and is already being acclaimed as one of the top courses in the country. It's dramatically long with thin fairways, making long accurate drives most important.
The Pete Dye Indiana course was built on a hilltop overlooking the Hoosier National Forest in southern Indiana. It offers a variety of elevation changes which provide spectacular views, some that stretch for over 40 miles.
The course plays over 8,100 yards from the back tees, a length that challenges long hitting pros. Fortunately, there are five sets of tees that begin at 5,100 yards, so all levels of play are accommodated.

Among the distinctive design features on the Pete Dye Indiana course are volcano bunkers, bunkers placed on top of hills that are extra challenging. The most dramatic set of holes runs from 11-14 with the 14th, a par 5 close to 600 yards with a split fairway that escalates from tee to green the signature hole on the Pete Dye Indiana course. Among the long holes on the course is the 16th, a par 3 that plays 305 yards from the blues.
While there are plenty of long holes on the Pete Dye Indiana course, some of the fairways are only 30 yards wide, which makes accuracy as important as distance. For drives on these holes, I suggest the Condor SQ 460cc Square-Head driver from www.scientificgolfclubs.com. The square head promotes accuracy and the max size club head promises extra distance.
The square head is less likely to rotate than the traditional oval shape so you hit drives square to the target. Meanwhile the maximum 460cc size club head is coated with an extra strong metal that's twice as hard as steel and 70 percent harder than titanium, so your straight drives will travel farther. The driver also comes with a graphite shaft that promotes a smooth swing. |
