SAND WEDGE REVIEW
SAND WEDGE REVIEW EXAMINES SAND AND ALL PURPOSED WEDGES
By Ken Liebeskind
Yalesville, Connecticut
Today's sand wedge review starts with the Ben Hogan 5610 Special sand wedge that offers less bounce than the typical sand wedge and works well in wet conditions or bunkers with firmer sand. One golfer eager to participate in our sand wedge review said it's "extremely versatile and easy to hit."
Our sand wedge review continues with Cleveland's CG12 and CG 14 clubs with zip grooves that channel the dirt and sand outwards so the club has a maximum surface contact area for better control and spin. A golfer contributing to the sand wedge review said "the grooves channel more debris than traditional wedges and provide consistent spin due to improved contact."
Our sand wedge review must include the Condor All Purpose Wedge from www.Ngcsports.com.

The sand wedge review includes wedges not exclusively designed for sand. The Titleist Volkey wedge is an all purpose wedge that can be used in sand. One golfer said, "I'd never rate my bunker performance as anything better than below average but the Volkey makes the thought of being in sand much less intimidating. The club glides nicely through the sand to get just enough ball to clear the lip and land softly on the green. Bunker play was never this easy."
As far as all purpose wedges go, our sand wedge review must include the Condor All Purpose Wedge from www.Ngcsports.com. This is the wedge with the 60 degree loft that can be used in the sand as well as for short fairway pitches and chips from the rough. The Condor All Purpose Wedge carries 10 extra grams of weight and a lower center of gravity that provides the loft and spin you need to get your shots close, from the sand or grass.
