Whistling Straits, a magnificent golf resort in Kohler, WI offers two course designed by Pete and Alice Dye. The Straits course, a 7,514 yard par 72 gem that hosted a PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open, replicates a British Isles seaside links course along a two mile stretch of Lake Michigan. The best known of the Whistlings Straits courses features vast rolling greens, deep pot bunkers and grass topped dunes, with winds whipping in off the lake.

The course also features eight holes hugging the lake, elevation changes of 80 feet and three stone bridges at holes 9, 10 and 18.

The Whistling Straits courses also include the Irish course, an inland grass and dune layout that plays 7,201 yards from the tips. It has a 75.6 course rating with a slope rating of 146. The Irish course may be more the most difficult of the Whistling Straits courses because of the gnarly rough, ponds, streams and ravines. The Irish is also laden with waste bunkers, which are minimally maintained to let the elements reshape them.
